Abstract:
The need for a robust national standardization policy for Made-in-Nigeria products has become increasingly critical in bridging the global competitiveness gap. This review presents a comprehensive overview of modeling such a policy to enhance the quality and marketability of Nigerian products on the global stage The proposed policy aims to address the challenges faced by Nigerian manufacturers in meeting international standards, which hinder their ability to compete globally. The modeling process involves a detailed analysis of current standards, identifying gaps in quality assurance, and benchmarking against successful international practices. By integrating these elements, the policy will establish a structured framework for setting, monitoring, and enforcing quality standards across various sectors. Key components of the policy include the development of a national quality assurance system, enhancement of certification processes, and the establishment of a robust regulatory environment. The policy will also focus on fostering collaboration between government agencies, industry stakeholders, and international standardization bodies to ensure alignment with global best practices. This approach aims to enhance product quality, increase consumer confidence, and ultimately boost the global competitiveness of Made-in-Nigeria products. Furthermore, the policy will incorporate strategies for capacity building and technical support to assist local manufacturers in achieving compliance with international standards. This includes training programs, technical workshops, and financial incentives for upgrading production facilities. By addressing these areas, the policy will not only improve the quality of Nigerian products but also support sustainable economic growth and industrial development. In conclusion, modeling a national standardization policy for Made-in-Nigeria products is crucial for enhancing their global competitiveness. The proposed framework will provide a comprehensive approach to quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and international alignment, paving the way for Nigerian products to compete effectively in the global market.
